This morning I watched the Man U versus Portsmouth game and I must say Rooney did very well coming on as a sub in the 60th minute. It seemed like the game was pretty much stalemated due to Sol Campbell’s great defending and David James’s great keeping but when Rooney was brought on late in the game things began opening up. The first blow came in the 77th minute when Giggs cross the ball low to Rooney who finished it perfectly (seen here). Then, in the 83rd minute Rooney struck again with a chip that sailed over the heads of Sol Campbell and left the keeper David James hopeless (seen here). Pompey struck back in the 87th minute when a strike from Pedro Mendes that deflected off of Kanu (seen here). Rooney tipped the scale and the final score, 2-1 Man U. Man U now moves on to the 5th round of the FA Cup. And by the way, Spurs won 3-1 versus Southend.
